MDBBA President’s Message
Welcome to the website of the Moldovan Association for Biosafety and Biosecurity (MDBBA).
Dear colleagues and friends,
We would like to thank everyone who joined the MDBBA. It is a great pleasure to send warm greetings to the new members of the MDBBA.
By becoming members of our Association, you will have the opportunity to increase your knowledge in the field of biosafety and biosecurity, to achieve your goals by developing skills related to specialized areas in biosafety, biosecurity and biological risk management.
Within the Association, the following working groups have been set up: professional development, editing and promoting the scientific journal of the MDBBA, IT support and web page administration, young people for education and awareness on biosafety and biosecurity, organization of events (conferences, promotional activities, etc.), financial management and accounting. The groups are led by well-known personalities in the field.

If you are interested in the field of activity of any of these groups, or have valuable ideas and would like to share them with others, in order to be involved and be part of one of these groups, please, let us know. Accordingly, you can adhere to these groups by contacting the group leaders.
You can become an active member of a working group in order to develop educational materials by applying best practices in biosafety and biosecurity, or become a passive member of the MDBBA with free access to all information placed on the website.
So far, a successful partnership has been developed with national academic organizations such as: the Institute of Microbiology and Biotechnology of the Academy of Sciences of Moldova, Nicolae Testemitanu State University of Medicine and Pharmacy, etc. The MDBBA is affiliated to prestigious international associations with extensive experience in the field of biosafety, biosecurity, biological risk management and dual-use research.

We are looking forward to collaborating with members of other international associations for jointly developing of educational materials, based on and promoting the principles of biosafety and biosecurity, which will ultimately be a benefit for all of us.
We will be glad to cooperate with any member: student, resident, or professional in various fields, including biologists, microbiologists, nurses, young laboratory workers, researchers, etc. All those involved in the handling of biological agents or responsible for biosafety and biosecurity issues are encouraged to join the MDBBA.

Workshop 14.11.2019
Training of young doctors in the workshop “Good practices in the handling of biological agents”. During the workshop, trainings were organized for young doctors on biosafety measures for handling biological agents in the microbiological laboratory. Laboratory accidents were simulated and the measures taken to reduce the biological risk resulting from them were demonstrated.
